Villanueva de los Infantes
Villanueva de los Infantes has one of the most comprehensive monument environments of La Mancha with churches, convents, palaces and noble houses, façades with coats of arms and grilled balconies.

Villanueva de los Infantes is located in Campo de Montiel in the province of Ciudad Real.

Villanueva de los Infantes is a beautiful Historical Artistic Site dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries that warrants a walk around to admire its history made stone. Its harmonious architectural and artistic personality owes itself to being a sponsor town of the Order of Santiago, with the urban environment organised around the Plaza Mayor.

The Plaza Mayor, where many of the town's essential monuments can be found, such as the Town Council, San Andrés' Church, the Bust of Quevedo and the origin of the main streets, Santo Domingo's Convent where Quevedo lived and died and the Casa del caballero del Verde Gabán (The Knight in Green Coat's House)


Torre de Juan Abad

Museum dedicated to the life and work of D. Francisco de Quevedo y Villegas, located in a seventeenth century house owned by his mother in the town of Torre de Juan Abad, where the writer spent 10 years. There you can see different documents and personal belongings as a Talavera pottery inkwell, seventeenth century that belonged to Quevedo.
